I SENSE Creativity

As I was researching this topic, I was shocked that I could not find more credible sources.

This is the best article I could find. http://medicalterms.info/anatomy/Sensory-organs/. The article goes into detail about how each organ in the nervous system is connected to one of the five senses. 5 senses

THE 5 SENSES!

  1. SIGHT
  2. HEARING
  3. TASTE
  4. SMELL
  5. TOUCH

In regards to creativity, one can assume we rely mostly on one sense in comparison to another. For my personal creativity I can say that I rely heavily on the sense of sight.

Could we express ourselves in a subject matter using something other than the default sense?

Here are some videos that made me think of how I can push my creative thought process further. Maybe there are other ways of using our senses other than we normally do. Instead of relying on sight, maybe I rely more on something else.

SIGHT IN PLACE OF SOUND

I took American Sign Language in High School and one of our weekly assignments was to translate songs. In the video below she translates this song in a more visually appealing way than how I did. From my experience in learning sign language, I really learned how important facial expressions can be, in any language.

INTEREST IN SOUND DUE TO ABSENCE OF SIGHT

I love how she took something negative and turned it positive.

Is it possible to shift our focus into something else to become more aware of a particular sense?

LIBRARY OF SMELLS

Have you ever smelled something and immediately been transported to a memory?

For me the smell of popcorn transports me to some of my fondest memories, such as walking thru Main Street in Disneyland! Oh the power of smells!

ABSENCE OF SIGHT, INTENSIFIES

#allthefeelings I love how he says, “…the first step into my art career was going blind. And I am happier than I have ever been in my life.”

ASMR

What is that you ask? Autonomous sensory meridian response. There has been a growing trend of ASMR in social media. This article mentions The Tingles

ENJOYING FOOD NEVER SOUNDED SO GOOD

Can you believe that there is another way where we can enjoy food? By listening and watching people eat it! Check out this new craze of ASMR eating. This video received over 1,000,000 views!

To explore our senses is to explore how we react to the things around us.
